7. Real Life Application of Division
Connection
is key in math in my opinion. If I as a teacher can get my students to connect
math with their everyday life, then it will be a lot easier for the students to
achieve the right answer more often. Also this would give the student an
opportunity to lose some of the restrictions they put on them self in math. Lose
that intimidation feeling (Hopefully).
Reflection
· If a student likes cooking, then I
could ask them a baking question maybe. If a recipe says it will make 16
muffins but that would be too many for the family to eat in a week that 8 would
suit the family better. What would be the steps that you would have to figure
out to achieve 8 muffins?
Reflection on Reflection
· It doesn’t have to be cooking but it can be anything. The
connection is what drives the student to think and to want to learn. Using any
method possible will only help my teaching career.
