13. Nets of Objects

13. Nets of Objects

To identify, design and sketch nets of objects was the primary goal today in Geometry. The difference between a pyramid and a prism was investigated. So I asked myself what was an everyday prism? A cereal box! The best thing about it was almost every student saw this box every morning before school so it was fresh in their minds.
Reflection
·       A net shows the faces of an object.
·       The net can be cut out and folded to make the object.
Reflection of Reflection
·       A cereal box is an everyday net which will help connect students to real world material.
·       Having many different forms of nets only helps explain how nets are constructed and how to identify nets when they lay flat.
